Product CSV Column Headers

Below is a guide of the different CSV columns that are present in a standard Product Export and how they relate to your products.

  • catalogid
    This is the item's database ID. It is created by the store.
    Should not be used for Importing CSV data. It is best to remove this column altogether.

  • id
    Corresponds to the product's ID/SKU
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • name
    Corresponds to the product's Name
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • categories
    Corresponds to the Cateogry the product resides in
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

A special note about Categories
Certain formatting rules come into play for how categories are shown in the CSV export.

  • If the product resides in only one category, the CSV export will reflect the category name in this column.

  • If the product resides in a sub-category, the CSV export will reflect it as "main category/sub-category" with a forward slash denoting the subcategory the item belongs to.

  • If the product resides in multiple categories, each individual category location will be separated with the @ symbol.

This is important to note because it may get somewhat confusing when reading the CSV export of a product that resides in several places at once. For example, if a product resides in "Category A", and "Category B" but also in Category A's sub-category "Sub-cat 1" all at the same time; the CSV record will read as follows:

Category A@Category A/Sub-cat 1@Category B

When naming your Categories, please be careful that you do not use symbols such as the forward slash (/) or the @ sign since these may be recognized by the import system as brand-new categories.

  • mfgid
    Corresponds to the MPN field of the product
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • manufacturer
    Corresponds to the assigned Manufacturer of the product
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • distributor
    Corresponds to the assigned Distributor of the product
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • cost
    Corresponds to the Cost field of the product as set in the "Pricing" section
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • price
    Corresponds to the Price field of the product as set in the "Pricing" section
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • price2
    Corresponds to the Retail Price field of the product as set in the "Pricing" section
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • price3
    Obsolete setting from previous versions
    NO LONGER USED AND MAY BE LEFT BLANK

  • saleprice
    Corresponds to the On Sale Price field of the product as set in the "Pricing" section
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • onsale
    Corresponds to the On Sale check box of the product as set in the "Pricing" section
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • stock
    Corresponds to the "Current Stock" number set for the product in the Inventory Options section.
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • stock_alert
    Correspodns to the "Stock Alert" number set for the product in the Inventory Options section.
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • display_stock
    Obsolete setting from previous versions
    NO LONGER USED AND MAY BE LEFT BLANK

  • weight
    Corresponds to the "Weight" of the item as specified in the "Shipping Options" section.
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • minimumorder
    Corresponds to the Min. Qty setting for the product
    Hint: Look in the Product's ADVANCED TAB

  • maximumorder
    Corresponds to the Min. Qty setting for the product
    Hint: Look in the Product's ADVANCED TAB

  • date_created
    Corresponds to the "Date Available" option of the product
    Hint: Look in the Product's ADVANCED TAB

  • description
    Corresponds to the "Short Description" specified for the product
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • extended_description
    Corresponds to the "Description" area of the product. (The one with WYSIWYG available)
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • keywords
    Corresponds to the "Keywords" area of the product.
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB

  • sorting
    Obsolete setting from previous versions
    NO LONGER USED AND MAY BE LEFT BLANK

  • thumbnail
    Contains the path to the product's Thumbnail image
    Hint: Look in the Product's IMAGES TAB

  • image1
    Contains the path to the product's Main image
    Hint: Look in the Product's IMAGES TAB

  • image2
    Contains the path to the product's Second image
    Hint: Look in the Product's IMAGES TAB

  • image3
    Contains the path to the product's Third image
    Hint: Look in the Product's IMAGES TAB

  • image4
    Contains the path to the product's Fourth image
    Hint: Look in the Product's IMAGES TAB

  • realmedia
    Contains the path to any video URL that you may have associated with the product.

  • related
    Contains the ID of any items flagged as "Related" to the product
    Hint: Look in the Product's RELATED TAB

  • accessories
    Contains the ID of any items flagged as "Up-Selling" items to the product
    Hint: Look in the Product's UP-SELLING TAB

  • shipcost
    Corresponds to the "Shipping" cost set in the "Shipping Options" section.
    Hint: Look in the Product's INFORMATION TAB
