Shift4Shop's Cart Notices Add-on (available from the App Store) will let you display special messages during checkout that will appear when certain conditions are met by the shopper. There are four types of conditional messages that you can create:
The message will display if the shopper's order has not yet reached your specified minimum amount. For example, you may have a required minimum for checkout, or perhaps you offer free shipping after a certain amount. The message can be created to advise the customer that they are below the minimum.
This type of message can be set up to display until a specified date. They can be used to display details of an ongoing promotion that might be useful to the shopper.
Products in Cart
This message can be set up to display if the shopper has specific item(s) in their cart. It can be a useful way to add notices about related or upsell items or perhaps inform the shopper of promotion specifics related to the items already added.
Categories in Cart
Same as the Products in Cart message mentioned above, but this allows you to select entire categories as needed for the message display.
In addition, each message can also be set up with an optional Call to Action and a URL for the shopper to click on.
If you have purchased the Cart Notices Add-On, use the following steps to set it up.
Log into your Shift4Shop Online Store Manager.
Using the left navigation menu, go to Modules.
Once you're in Modules, use the search bar at the top to search for "Cart Notices" and the module will appear.
Click on the Settings button
Mark the "Enable Cart Notices" checkbox at the top.
To add a Cart Notice message, continue with the following steps
7. Click on the Manage Notices button located at the top right of the page.
8. On the subsequent page, click the Add button to add your first cart notice message.
9. Specify a name for the message (this will help you identify it in the admin) and click Add.
After specifying a name for the message, you'll be able to finish creating it with the following settings:
The name of the message. This name only appears in the Online Store Manager, and it's simply there to let you identify the message.
Mark this checkbox to make the message active.
Select the type of message this will be (see types listed above).
Depending on the type of message you select, you will have different options to specify.
For example, the Deadline type will let you select a specific date, while the Minimum Amount type will be a numeric field for you to add a monetary amount.
Here's where you'll enter the actual message that will display to the shopper.
Note that the store will show you some dynamic variables you can use in the message.
Call to Action
Use this field to add a call to action button/link on the message. This field will serve as the label of the link. For example, "Click here for more products!"
Call to Action URL:
If you're using a Call to Action on the message, this field will let you specify the URL the shopper will go to when they click.
Once you've created your Cart Notice Message, click "Save" at the top right to complete the set up and repeat for any other messages you'd like to add.
