Set My Gift Certificates to Expire
If you would like to have your store's gift certificates expire after a certain amount of time, you can use Shift4Shop's Gift Certificate with Expiration module.
This module allows you to set expiration periods for all of your store's gift certificates as well as notification emails to entice users to use their gift certificates as quickly as possible. To set up the module, follow these steps:
Log into your Shift4Shop Online Store Manager.
Using the left navigation menu, go to Modules.
Once you're in the Modules page, use the search bar at the top to locate "Gift Certificate With Expiration."
You will have the following settings to configure for the module:
Enable Gift Certificate Expiration Module
Mark this checkbox to enable the Gift Certificate Expiration Module.Gift Certificate Expiration Days
Set the number of days (from the day of its creation) until the Gift Certificate expires.Enable Gift Certificate Expiration Email
Mark this checkbox to enable the Gift Certificate Email notification which will inform users that their certificate is about to expire.Days before Expiration
Set the number of days before expiration that the Gift Certificate email notice is sent.Gift Certificate Expiration Email
Click on this link to review and edit the notification email as needed.
After your settings are configured, click Save at the top of the page to commit your changes. All generated gift certificates created henceforth will adhere to your expiration rules.
